Licensing, Bonding, and Insurance for Our Heavy Haul Trucking Company
When you are trusting someone with heavy equipment, mobile homes, or oversized freight, you want to know they are properly licensed and covered. Here’s a look at how Black Diamond Freight operates as a fully compliant heavy haul trucking company across the U.S. and Canada.
Licensing
We hold all required federal and state level licenses to operate as a commercial carrier, including DOT and MC authority. Our drivers carry valid commercial driver’s licenses and are trained specifically for heavy haul and oversized load transport, not just standard freight.
For cross border work, we’re also set up to operate legally in Canada, with the proper authority to move freight between countries without delays at the border.
Bonding
Black Diamond Freight is a bonded carrier, which means we meet the financial requirements set by federal and customs authorities. This matters most for cross border shipments, where a customs bond is required to move freight between the U.S. and Canada. Being bonded gives shippers added peace of mind that we are financially accountable for the freight we carry.
Insurance Coverage
Every load we haul is covered by cargo insurance, so your shipment is protected against damage or loss while in transit. We also carry general liability and auto liability coverage, which protects you in the rare event something goes wrong during pickup, transport, or delivery.
If you need documentation for your own records or for a job site requirement, just ask. We are happy to provide proof of insurance and bonding before any job begins.
Why This Matters
A lot of companies will quote you a price without mentioning any of this. We would rather you know upfront that you are working with a carrier that’s properly licensed, bonded, and insured, so there are no surprises if something unexpected happens along the way.
